He graduated from Kazakh Academy of Transport majoring in Transport Management. Later he received MBA degree from American Graduate School of Business in Switzerland.
His career started at the Pension Fund Ular, where he rose to the Deputy Chairman, gaining a varied experience in the finance operations.
In 2001 Mr. Mestoyev started his own business in metallurgy with KazFerroSteel LLP. He built a processing plant for ferrous metals. Afterward, he sold a business to a group of Kazakhstani investors.
At the later date, he reinvested capital in gold mining and founded the Sumeru Company, which within 2 years showed high production. Later he sold this successful business to the foreign investors.
Thereafter Mr. Mestoyev had experience of working in governmental bodies including the Samruk Kazyna Sovereign Fund and the Presidential Administration in Astana.
Then he started oil products trading and transportation through the company Kara Altyn Munai Gaz that was founded by him. The business captured a noticeable share of domestic and international shipments, showing a significant profitability.
Mr. Mestoyev founded MG Holding in 2012 to diversify his business interests and to focus on 2 main projects: “St. Regis Astana Hotel and Residences” and “Establishment of a New International Aviation Hub”.
Mr. Mestoyev lives in Almaty, married and has three children.
